- Criteria for proper fit includes:
- Fit well and cover ALL the teeth
- Resistant to tearing or shredding
- Controlled thickness in key areas for maximum protection
- Comfortable to wear and ability to breath
- Able to speak with minimal interference
- Mouth guards should be worn at ALL times while training, practicing and during competition.
- It is recommended every athlete have a full dental exam at least once a year.
- Mouth guard should be properly stored in carry case.
- Mouth guards should be kept clean of bacteria at all times utilizing proper mouth guard cleaning solutions, tooth paste, or alcohol free mouth wash.
- Mouth guards should be kept out of direct sunlight and heat as it may alter the shape of the boil and mold fit.
- When a mouth guard becomes ill-fitting, loose, constantly fall off the teeth it's time to replace with a new one.
